Here is the beautiful Livia in dress number 2. It’s made by US designer Casey Larkin’s label, Mr Larkin. The fabulous part is its made from milk fibre!!!!
Disaster – Imagine your a few hours from attending an awards ceremony (or just a big night out for the less famous of us!) and you find your dress has been altered but it doesn’t fit? Oh no it has been altered wrong ! Eek what do you do ? Well if your Livia you use your status and get a top director’s tailor to come to the rescue. Livia found herself in the above situation when she was getting ready Screen Actors Guild awards. She had wanted the dress altered because it was originally a low cut dress but somehow in the mix of it all, it hadn’t quite gone to plan. Luckily all was well and she got to go to the ball…..
Here ’s the little bit about the interesting part…..Milk fibre is a sustainable fibre. The fibre is milk casein protein and spun into yarn. Apparently it’s super soft, I can’t wait to be able to feel that. I find that my organic cotton tees are sooooo soft, so I could imagine how this would feel against the skin. Designer Casey Larkin also uses vintage sequins and trimmings to costumize the dresses. It’s great to know that there are designers that are ethical aware out there, I think they need to shout louder and let everyone know.
Livia accessorised her fabulous dress with Stella McCartney ethical shoes which are super pretty and a gold handbag which is made from non-leather materials and hand embroidered, vegan and eco friendly. She was originally going to be using her Luciana clutch made from can ring pulls, it’s beautiful but the gold would have clashed !! not something you can have on the red carpet. Her jewellery are vintage pieces.

Colin Firth (Livia’s husband) has been nominated for best actor at the BAFTA’s. All awards are great but the BAFTA’s are the biggy. So this will no doubt be a dress to go all out on. What will it be this time vintage, upcycled or sustainable fabric ??? What ever Livia decides I am sure it will be beautiful.
